This is my absolute favorite cake recipe, the whipped cream frosting just adds to the moisture and enhances the flavor of the chocolate. You wont even want milk with it. Hope you like it as much as I do!
Ingredients
cake
3 C Flour
2 C Sugar
1/2 C Unsweetened cocoa powder
2 t baking soda
1 t Salt
3/4 C Vegetable oil
2 T White vinegar
2 t Vanilla
1 C Coffee
1 C Water
frosting
1 C heavy cream
3 T Powdered sugar
1/2 t vanilla
How To
cake
- Heat oven to 350 F
- Whisk together dry ingredients, then mix in the wet ingredients
- Pur into three 8 inch cake pans, or 2 10 inch ones, and bake for about 20-25 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool before frosting
frosting
- Combine all ingredients and beat until soft peaks form
*this frosting recipe is not very strong, so its best with cupcakes for example. when you put it on a cake don't handle it too much or else it'll start to separate before hardening. Ill update the recipe when I perfect it, in the mean time, the combination of the cake and frosting is AMAZING, so maybe just decorate by piping. Enjoy!
